If you think you may not be able to afford to study there are a number of ways you might be able to get help, including bus passess, bursaries and daycare. 

 

Citizens Advice

Barrow Citizens' Advice is an independent charity that provides free, confidential, impartial, independent information and advice to people who live and work in the borough of Barrow-in-Furness about their rights and responsibilities. They aim to provide the advice people need for the problems they face, improve the policies and practices that affect peoples' lives, and fight poverty in Barrow. 

 

Shelter

Shelter helps millions of people every year who are struggling with bad housing or homelessness through their advice, support and legal services. They also campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to them for help, as there will be no struggles to solve. 

 

Universal Credit

Universal Credit is a payment to help with your living costs. It's paid monthly in England. You may be eligible for it if you are on a low income or are out of work. 

 

British Red Cross

The British Red Cross help millions of people in the UK and around the world to get the support they need if crisis strikes, for example money problems - you may be eligible to get help through a period of financial difficulty.

 

Gingerbread

Gingerbread provide information to help single parents support themselves and their family. They run programmes to equip single parents with the skills and opportunities to gain employment, as well as campaigning and infuence polocy to reduce the stigma against single parents, and make services more accessible to all families - whatever their shape or size.

If you're struggling on a low income, there's a lot more cash out there to help than you may think.
